a rock pool alive with seaweed and animals, including our native gobi fish. Rock pools fringe our shores , and my Mother grew up in Falmouth, Cornwall, right next to Swan pool Beach.
I made drawings and gathered lots of beautiful weed, shells and pebbles in order to make the art work for this print.
Its a three colour, hand pulled print made with pure magenta, mustard and grey-blue. I wanted to show all the layers of translucent colour you might find in a sea pool. The colours also remind me of lithographic illustrations of the early 20th Century you may find in natural history books and children illustrations.
